“Create the thing you wish existed.” Two years ago, these six words became my battle cry…
I’d spent five years traveling as a pro makeup artist for some of the best known beauty brands in the world, and the truth is, I was tired. Tired of hearing: “Red lipstick just doesn’t look good on me.” Or “I don’t think I’ll ever find the perfect nude for my skin tone.” I’d met hundreds of women who really believed that. And I was tired of hearing it because I knew in my soul, it just wasn’t true.
Blame it on being an only child (or on “The Little Engine That Could”) but I’d never been a fan of the word NO. Can’t, won’t, don‘t — those were all four-letter words in my book, and I avoided them like the plague. In a way, my love for makeup grew out of my hatred for the can’ts in life. In makeup, there aren’t any. Only how’s. How do I make it easier for women everywhere to find that red lipstick that will make them feel like a movie star? How can I help women discover the perfect nude shade for their unique skin tone?
Those were the how’s that kept me up at night. So after I got tired, I got busy. Busy creating the thing I wish existed — an easy way to help women discover the most flattering lipstick shades for their uniquely beautiful skin tone, building a wardrobe of lip colors for every occasion. Helping them feel fabulous and FEARLESS along the way? Well, that’s just icing on the cake.
